Open call: Share your work with biocolourants

Invitation to share your work with biocolourants.

Dear Friends of BioColour!
BioColour research project will organize in collaboration with the University of Lapland Faculty of Arts an exhibition “BioColour – Exploring Sustainable Colour” at the Arktikum Science Centre and Museum in Rovaniemi from the 14.10-5.12.2021 and a seminar related to the exhibition on Thursday the 14th October.  We invite you to share your story about biocolours in the seminar!

If you are dealing with natural colourants and colour in your work, studies or other interests – here is an opportunity to seize: share your story in a Pecha Kucha presentation with the BioColour Network! The invitation is open to individuals and groups of all ages and professional levels. We will publish a maximum of 20 Pecha Kucha presentations, three of which will be shown at the BioColour seminar in Rovaniemi on the 14th October. All the chosen presentations will be shared at BioColour project’s website as an extension to the seminar.

In order to participate, send a brief description of your idea and title (max. 500 words) and two photos of your story combined as one pdf file, with your contact information to the email address biocolourfi@gmail.com by the 1st August 2021. From these idea proposals, we will choose and invite max 20 to be created as actual Pecha Kucha presentations.

Pecha Kucha is a pictorial presentation format in which 20 images change every 20 seconds, and the entire presentation is therefore 6 minutes 40 seconds (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PechaKucha). A presentation can contain only pictures or a picture and explanation text and/or speech. The presentation can be in Finnish or English.

Final Pecha Kucha presentations must be prerecorded and saved in a video format. For those selected, we will send instructions on how to prepare the presentation.

The decision of idea proposals will be send by the 23rd August and the final recorded Pecha Kucha video file must be send by the 4th October.  The Pecha Kucha presentations can be viewed on the BioColour Project’s YouTube channel and website until the end of the project, 31st December 2025.

BioColour – Exploring Sustainable Colour is part of the Year of research-based knowledge program.
