I’m working as a university teacher in the multidisciplinary CHEMARTS courses at Aalto University and conducting research in the BioColour project. Before starting in BioColour, I was studying the utilization of nanocellulose for applications in water purification. In BioColour my research topics are the application of lignin and tree bark extractives as colourants, especially for textiles. Research on these topics has sparked my interest in finding new uses for forest industry sidestreams. It would be great to see new products utilizing these sidestreams in the future. During my free time I like to cook and read. I also try to find time for handicraft projects and hiking trips.
